A sombre Sting arrived in Palma yesterday ahead of his sell-out concert tonight at the Bullring. The former Police lead singer choose his words carefully at the airport saying that he, and his eight-man band, would be playing a mixture of Police and his own solo material. What music will you be playing?, Sting, he replied. His latest single, A Perfect Day, has sold well in Spain and up to 10'000 people could attend the concert tonight despite tickets being priced at 6'000 pesetas. It is not the first concert he has played at a bullring. I like Bullrings, but I am not too keen on bullfighting, he told the Bulletin. Despite reports to the contrary he said my last Palma gig was blissful and the crowd responded well. More than 14'000 people packed into the Son Pardo race-track in 1993 including the Infanta Cristina and super-model Claudia Schiffer.
