Big scandal

The television sensation in Spain, which is what most people are talking about on their way to work every morning, has provided its fair share of scandals and revelations since the programme started at the end of April, but El Gran Hermano (Big Brother) was thrown into a fresh scandal yesterday following accusations that the Majorcan participant in the 24-hour live television social experiment used to work as a “hostess” in an alternative bar in Alicante. Monica Ruiz only entered the sealed property 12 days ago, but in the early hours of yesterday morning at 2am, voluntarily left the house. While one of the ingredients of the experiment is that the participants in the house are not allowed to know what is happening on the outside, the producers of the show contacted Monica to inform her of the revelations in two of Spain's top selling magazines. According to the television channel, they broke with protocol to inform Monica “so that she could defend herself.” Yesterday she was believed to be heading back to her family in Palma and her mother was refusing to comment on developments over the past 24 hours.
