The power cuts across Majorca and Minorca continued yesterday as power company GESA continues its battle against the clock to repair the fault at the Es Murterar power station in Alcudia in order to meet the Friday deadline given by GESA. It will be cold showers again this morning for thousands of British tourists and residents in Calvia with power to be off between 9am and mid-day, depending on the exact area. Alcudia and Pollensa will be without power from 11am to 1pm and power supplies in Minorca will start going down from 5pm onwards. GESA has given assurances that the powercuts will be for just half an hour and yesterday the power company reparation work was going to schedule and by tomorrow Es Murterar power station will be running at 100 per cent and the region's power supply will be back to normal. Nevertheless, the Balearic government has ordered a full inquiry into the power failure which happened a week ago and is still effecting Majorca and Minorca.
