Three people died late on Monday when two cars were in a collision on the road between Porto Cristo and Son Servera. A Peugeot 405 driven by 22-year-old Francisco Javier Corrales and Maria Vazquez Parra strayed into the on-coming lane and collided with a Renault Clio. A seven year old boy named as David Heredia Muñoz, who was a passenger in the back of the Renault died instantly. The two 22-year-olds were rushed to hospital but were dead on arrival. The young boy's parents (driver and passenger in the Renault Clio) escaped without injury. A Civil Guard spokesman said last night that the accident was probably caused by the driver of the Peugeot 405 becoming distracted. A long tailback formed on the road as a result of the crash which police are still investigating.
