The battle lines are drawn in Soller with the Platform for the Protection of Son Puca which is under threat from plans to build a massive industrial estate. Opponents to the project want Son Puca and San Angelats to be left alone and the beautiful countryside to be left unspoilt. Yesterday the Platform against the project announced that it is to launch a campaign and start a petition in order to collect as many names as possible and mobilise the general public in a bid to block the industrial estate. The movement has called for a meeting with the Balearic Minister for Commerce, Pere Sampol over the next few days and today representatives from the platform will be meeting the Environment Minister Margalida Rossello to press their case against the industrial estate and the ecological and environmental damage the project will have on the area which according to one opponent simply does not need an industrial estate.
