The Mayor of Palma, Joan Fageda, yesterday officially switched on the Christmas lights bringing some festive cheer to the city. This year more streets than ever before have festive illumination. The lights are paid for by the Shopkeepers Guild and the city council. The council hopes that the lights and all the other festive entertainment they are planning will encourage more people out onto the streets of Palma during the warm-up to Christmas.
Let there be light as Christmas comes to Palma
