Thieves break in and cause fire

A gand of thieves broke into a mobile telephone shop in Arenal by making a hole in the wall, and then set fire to it to wipe out evidence, apparently in a fit of pique because they did not find any money. The shop in Calle Trasimeno was gutted and all the stock destroyed. It is believed it could be the same gang that has broken into premises in Inca, Marratxi, Santa Margalida and Alaró, also by making a hole in the wall.

· DEATH ATTRIBUTED TO OVERDOSE

THE National Police are investigating the death of a man found in a car parked in Calle Fausto Buenafé in Son Ferriol. The body was found yesterday afternoon. Death is believed to be due to a heroin overdose, but an autopsy will be held to confirm this. The man, whose identity has not been revealed, was aged 39.

· MURDER CASE STILL OPEN

DESPITE the confession of José Maria C, who said he was the only person responsible for the brutal murder of businessman Pedro Estarellas, the judge has not closed the investigation and wants to cross examine the other suspects again.
