The Majorcan Hotel federation will head to the ITB Berlin tourism fair which starts this week in defiant mood, with a clear message that it has no intention of reducing its prices - despite a 20 per cent drop in German holiday bookings and the Balearic Chief Minister, Francesc Antich, claiming that the main problem is that Majorca is too expensive. The President of the Hotel Federation, Pedro Cañellas, said yesterday that prior to taking any form of action to kick start the market, the hotel sector intends to hold a series of talks with Germany's leading tour operators in Berlin to establish what has exactly happened to the holiday market and what is causing the slump in bookings.
