The classic cars competing in the Majorca rally left Palma in style yesterday with the real veterans proving to be the crowd pullers. Car enthusiasts were over the moon as models on display included classic Porsches and Jaguars, and the more veteran Hispano Suizas and Alfa Romeo. There was even a car which had raced at Le Mans. Today, the competitors should be arriving in Puerto Pollensa -on Saturday morning they will be in Llucmajor and in Palma in the afternoon. If the rally proves successful it is set to become a yearly event in Majorca where there are a wealth of classic cars. Judging by the proud looks on the faces of many of the owners, new is not always best.
