A team of 15 budding Alan Shearers will be arriving in Majorca later this month for a week's football, but Tonbridge Football Club from Newcastle is still trying to draw up a fixture list. The squad of 15 are all aged 14 and for each of them, it will be their first holiday overseas. Organiser Michael Thompson said yesterday that all of the teenagers live on one of the North East's poorest estates and come from either single parent or low income families, so are therefore excluded from most local activities. The football club is sponsored by a number of charity and local organisations, Newcastle United manager Booby Robson visited the club a few weeks ago and gave the kids a few handy tips. Thompson said that the side had hoped to enter the Magalluf Easter tournament, but are going to miss the competition, so he is now trying to organise a series of games against local schools on the island.
