Between 9.30a.m. and 8pm today, you can visit the annual schools' educational fair set up along the Paseo del Borne in Palma, and organised by the City Council. This is the thirteenth year the City Council has organised this spring event that highlights various educational projects, initiatives and themes for children of all ages. Let's learn to think, (Aprenem a pensar) is the theme of this year's fair. Co-ordinator, Margalida Munar explained: as the theme is such a vast one, there is a particular focus on how things change and evolve over time. The international school, The Academy, is one of the 31 participants, made up of kindergartens, primary and secondary schools as well as various other educational centres. The pupils of The Academy, as well as pupils from many Spanish schools, have produced artwork inspired by the theme of this year's fair. Some of the work exhibited by the children from The Academy includes a Weather Tree produced by class 2, showing the four seasons of the year. Class 3 contributed with drawings highlighting environmental problems threatening the earth. In addition to all the art, the fair also includes several workshops and stands selling arts and crafts. To the delight of all children they can get their faces painted in all colours and get their hair braided.
A colourful educational fair in the heart of Palma
