Fierce winds up to speeds of more than 30 knots in the Bay of Palma yesterday meant that the trials planned for the S.A.R Princesa Sofia-Majórica Trophy had to be cancelled. Participants were ready to sail at noon, but the regatta was cancelled and eventually called off completely shortly before 3pm. Following the cancellation, the general classification for Cruisers remains the same as yesterday, except for Group D, where Omi II has been penalised and is now equal on points with Mestral IV of Jaume Morell. Group A is headed by Castellón Costa Azahar, but the Bribon, on which King Juan Carlos is competing, is only one point behind, while Mar Frio is in third place. Ramel-Meroil leads Group B, with Trasmediterránea in second place and Cyrano in third. Arosa IX heads Group C with Diva X and Vell Mari IV second and third respectively, while Group E is headed by Vindio, followed by Mallorca Yachting I and QDQ. The King, Queen Sofia, and the Infanta Cristina were at the Real Club Nautico from early in the morning until the cancellation of the day's races was announced. Also present were the King's niece Maria Zurita, and Carlos Morales, husband of Alexia of Greece.
