More than 70'000 visitors are expected to visit the 17th Majorcan Food Fare which opened its doors in Palma's fairs precinct yesterday. It is the biggest food fair held in the Balearics and it can be visited until April 27. It has been organised by the Majorcan Restaurateurs Association. The fair is open between 12.30pm and 4pm and 7 to 11pm, and there are parking facilities for 1'000 vehicles. In the precinct itself, there is seating room for 1'000 persons, while another 200 can stand at the bars. The opening was attended by Francesc Antich, the leader of the Balearic government, and his ministers of tourism and finance, commerce and industry, Celesti Alomar and Pere Sampol respectively, Maria Antonia Munar, president of the Council of Majorca, and Mayor of Palma Joan Fageda.
