Reial Mallorca were rewarded with a well-earned point at Villarreal on Sunday after clawing their way back from a two goal deficit in the second half to draw 2-2 and keep the club in line for a place in next season's Champions' League. Luis Aragones's hard-workers remain level with Valencia, after Hector Cuper's team drew 0-0 with Oviedo, while they opened up a two point gap over fifth-placed Barcelona who had a shocking 3-1 loss at Osasuna. Real Madrid stretched their lead at the top to eleven points after a 3-2 defeat of Zaragoza. Before the match Mallorca players dedicated the game to the club's owner Antonio Asensio who died last Friday after a long illness. The first half failed to do the man who dragged Mallorca into the 21st Century justice with Villarreal dominating play.
