The Guardia Civil in Minorca have arrested 14 members of a suspected narcotics ring operating on the islands. According to police sources, “Operation Moncho,” in which the national Police also participated, was launched at the start of April and over the past seven weeks, the drugs ring has been smashed and a total of 14 people arrested, one of whom is believed to have been the brains behind the drugs smuggling and dealing cartel, and has been arrested on drug charges on a number of previous occasions. Police sources said that the drugs were being smuggled in to the island by “human camels” travelling from Barcelona by ferry.
