The barman found beaten to death in Palma early on Tuesday morning suffered 15 blows to the head, 13 of which were fatal, according to the autopsy result. The true extent of the violent crime was revealed yesterday and the autopsy result also suggest that Jose Algar Sanchez, was beaten about the head, probably with the baseball bat found at the murder scene, on the ground where he lay in a pool of blood and agony. Palma murder squad detectives yesterday continued with their investigation and hunt for the killer. So far no arrests have been made and detectives are awaiting the forensic results and tests carried out on the baseball bat and a screwdriver found next to the battered body. Sources close to the case revealed yesterday that police suspect they are looking for an individual with a criminal record who acted alone. What is clear is that the motive for the break in to the bar was robbery. But the situation turned nasty when the intruder stumbled across Sanchez who had been sleeping in the bar.
