The security services are already getting the security operation ready for Spanish Prime Minister José Maria Aznar's holiday in Minorca. According to Interior Ministry sources, a team of special police have been on the island for the past few weeks and a 25-strong unit of police and marksmen is to be deployed on the island in August. But by the time the Prime Minister and his family arrive on the island, there will be an estimated 100 police officers involved in the security operation. Over the past few days, security measures have been revised and stepped up after rumours last week that an ETA terrorist unit was on the island. Apparently the National Police received a number of calls from the general public. Nerves about Aznar's visit are evident on the island - on Saturday night police arrested a local fishermen suspected of being an ETA terrorist. The 34-year-old fisherman from Ciutadella was arrested and dragged out of a night club in the early hours of Sunday morning while out with a group of friends.Initially a scuffle apparently broke out between the two arresting agents and the fisherman and the police bundled him down the street.
