The SFM Majorca Railway Company yesterday published a public apology for the breakdown of one of its train's air conditioning systems on Monday, the hottest day of the year so far in the Balearics. A spokesperson for the railway company admitted that the culmination of the lack of air conditioning and the high temperatures made it very uncomfortable for some of the passengers who rightly complained. The faulty train was eventually taken out of service to be repaired and the 7pm departure from Inca to Palma was delayed an hour with passengers having to wait for the next train with air conditioning. However, numerous complaints were received from passengers about the discomfort on the 8pm train which was packed and carrying a double load. The faulty train was repaired overnight and the SFM Majorca Railway Company yesterday gave its guarantee that normal services have resumed.
