The Balearic Red Cross last year spent nearly 1.571 million pesetas, the organisation's regional president Gerard Bonet said yesterday. The Red Cross's various services were used by 53.176 people, 15.165 more than the 38.011 people the organisation attended during the previous year. The five main programmes the Red Cross has been concentrating on are social, health, youth, development and international co-operation. The Red Cross has also been dealing with a huge rise in immigrant and refugee cases across the Balearics.
