A British rugby league star, on holiday in Majorca, has been left paralysed after diving into the shallow end of a hotel swimming pool. Simon Tuffs, who played for Featherstone and Bradford, suffered spinal injuries in the accident in Magalluf and was rushed to hospital in Palma. Doctors examined Tuffs and found that he had no movement below the waist. The 34-year-old chief coach at the top amateur side Featherstone Lions, is expected to be flown home from Majorca by air ambulance after an emergency operation, the Daily Star reported. Tuff's sister Jane Welburn told the newspaper we are all absolutely devastated. It also appears that Tuffs, who is still unconscious after the accident, could face a huge medical bill because he did not have travel insurance.
