It was all go in the resort of Paguera yesterday where the Day of the Tourist was being celebrated. While the official events did not take place till last night, throughout the day on the beach, there was a hive of activity from aerobics, to volley ball and beach ball matches. Tourists of all ages participated in the day's events and those not tired out by their hectic day on the beach attended many of the musical events last night. Three stages had been specially erected along the promenade as part of the Day of the Tourist 2001 celebrations. While this summer has been one of relatively few tourists, until the past three to four weeks when bookings picked up after tour operators slashed their prices, Paguera pushed the boat out yesterday to ensure that their guests had a wonderful day.
