Chris Brown and Lynn Whitely, and their team known as Amigas para Siempre are back on the island and have organised two fund-raising events in aid of the Santa Ponsa Community Church and Children in Care. The first event is a grand auction which will be held at the Tagor Bar on Magalluf beach at 2pm today. All items will be sold without a reserve price. The second event will take place in the same bar at 2pm on Thursday, and it is called Star for A Day, the attractions including Pavarotti, Elvis, Shirley, Madonna and many, many more. This event will also include a draw for a top quality washing machine from the Electrolux-Zanussi-Bendix group of companies, to be delivered free to anywhere on the UK. The draw will be held at around 3.30pm. Amigas para Siempre have over the last five years raised a considerable amount of money for children's charity and each year they have funded an educational toy or game for all the children in the home for abused and underprivileged children in Palma. Allen J Graham, the pastor of the Santa Ponsa Community Church, says that last year, the group raised so much that they were able to help even more children in need: almost 150 received good presents for Christmas and 100 food parcels went to needy families.
