The highlight of the local cricket season, the Balearic Cricket Championships, starts tomorrow with Mallorca hosting Ibiza in the first match in Magaluff. Mallorca, who have warmed-up for this year's championships with recent tests against the D.McGrath XI and Marcham Cricket Club from Oxfordshire, will be looking to continue their good form and are hoping a strong home support will help in their bid to lift the trophy. Saturday's clash between Ibiza and Menorca promises to be a typically rowdy affair, while on Sunday Mallorca are back at the wicket when they face Menorca in what is likely to be the championship decider. All games start at 12.00pm with the club house opening at 11.30am. Entrance to watch some great cricket is free while the club house serves cricket teas and has a bar. The ground is situated in Magaluff opposite the sports stadium. Take the road opposite the BCM Disco (Calle Galeon) and go past the Fiesta Jungla Hotel. Go straight across the crossroads and as the road bears right go straight down the lane in front of you. The ground is at the end of the lane.
