The rural tranquility of the village of Búger, central Majorca, was shattered early yesterday when vandals hit the main square, smashing plant pots, uprooting flowers and small trees and littering the area with toilet paper. Police suspect that the vandals struck hours after the village had been busy celebrating the «day of the virgins.» A council spokesperson said the many of the flowers had only recently been planted.
