By Humphrey Carter MAJORCA'S latest culinary experience opens its doors to the public next week when chefs Marc Fosh and Robert Bragagnolo open Fosh Food in Palma. The “gastronomic boutique” opens its doors to the public on Tuesday and Marc said yesterday over the past few weeks, there has been a great deal of interest from the public.

The shop in Calle Blanquerna, 6, will be unique to Majorca as it will be the only food centre comprising a delicatessen, kitchen utensil shop and cookery school. There will be cooks, who will be able to be watched, working round the clock in the show-kitchen preparing foods and dishes for the deli while the kitchen will also be where the cookery courses are going to be held.

Marc, in charge of the cookery school, will be taking some of the courses along with a number of leading local chefs and guest chefs from overseas. Managing director Bragagnolo will be running the deli and the kitchen shop with his wife.

Marc said yesterday that from Tuesday, people will be able to sign up for the programme of cookery courses which will feature everything from Thai cooking to Mediterranean, Greek and fish.

He even hopes to eventually organise something for the kids.
The idea, however, is to establish a food centre which caters for everyone interested in food and not an elite shop for gourmets. “We want to keep it all fresh, simple and easy so people can come and enjoy the food experience in the store,” he said.
