MAJORCA'S Rafael Nadal took time out from his schedule at the Roland Garros tennis championships in Paris yesterday to promote the Balearic Islands.
I'm proud to represent the region, he said. I really want the advertising campaign to be a success. His namesake, Miquel Nadal, Balearic Minister for Tourism said: Rafael is a magnificant ambassador for the Islands and we have a unique opportunity to get our message across. The minister said that the image of Nadal appeared on a giant screen on the centre court just as Roger Federer was making his entrance. In the advertisement, Nadal, speaking in French, makes an open invitation for people to visit the Islands where, he says, they will find everything they need for a perfect holiday.
