Son Servera local council has voted for free parking in the town centre of the tourist resort of Cala Millor, even in blue zone ticket controlled areas. The move comes as part of a strategy to stop people parking irregularly, boost access to trade and generally stimulate economic activity along the coast.

The new bylaw will effect ten streets in Cala Millor: Son Xerubí; ses Planes; Son Janer; es Rafalet; Na Llambies; Son Corb; Sipells; Avinguda Joan Servera Camps; ses Eres and Passeig Maritim. Critics of the council ruling say it needs to be made clearer to the public just where the free parking areas are.
