Palma.—Ireland's largest 100% Irish-owned tour operator, Sunway, will operate a new charter holiday flight series from Ireland West Knock to Palma-Majorca commencing on 14th June 2013.

Flights will operate on a weekly basis, every Friday until the 13th September 2013.
The addition of a new service to Palma-Majorca is the second service Sunway will operate from Ireland West Airport Knock along with their weekly programme to Lanzarote which has operated for the last three years and been hugely successful.

Palma-Majorca has always been a very popular destination for West of Ireland holidaymakers and Ireland West Airport Knock says is delighted to welcome Sunway as the operator of this new programme in 2013.

Proud
Commenting on the news, Tanya Airey, Managing Director Sunway said: “Sunway is delighted to operate to both Majorca and Lanzarote from Ireland West Knock for the 2013 season. “We are proud to be a 100% family owned business which has been operating quality holidays at great prices for almost 50 years. “We understand what the Irish holidaymaker wants in a holiday and hope that people in the west of Ireland will enjoy the exciting programme of holiday options which Sunway offers.” Winter?
Welcoming the news Joe Gilmore, Managing Director at Ireland West Knock said: “It is a significant boost for Ireland West Airport Knock to be expanding our network of destinations with leading tour operator brand, Sunway. “The addition of a new service to Palma-Majorca is indeed a vote of confidence in Ireland West Knock and our region. “We are confident that the Palma-Majorca programme will be well received by the public and we look forward to working with the Sunway team in the forthcoming season and wish them every success in their new venture at the Airport.” But, while the industry and travellers have welcomed the news of the Palma flight, it is during the winter when Ireland needs more regular flights to the island.

This winter, Scotland will be better connected than in the past but Ireland will remain more or less cut off from Majorca.
