Soller tram celebrating its centenary this year

The Soller Railway is currently drawing up a programme of events to mark the centenary of the Soller Tram which will begin in October.
The tram's celebrations come the year after the Soller to Palma train celebrated its centenary.
The President of the Soller Railway, which has recently been named as one of the top 100 experiences in Spain, said the celebrations are going to be just as important as those which were enjoyed over the past year to mark the railway's 100th anniversary.

The tram which runs from Soller town down to the port first came into operation on October 4, 1913, significantly improving the lives of the local population and traders, and is the only tram operating in the Balearics carrying around one million passengers per year.
