Another shake up for cycle laws
14/03/2013 00:00
Palma. The Director general for Traffic has just drawn up a new white paper and if approved will permit cyclists to ride on pavements which are more than three metres wide, providing they leave a distance of a metre between themselves and the buildings. At the moment, cyclists are banned from using the pavements but in some cities such as Palma where the network of cycle lanes is far from adequate, some cyclists find themselves with no option but to mount the pavement or join the busy traffic.
