Council staff told to get on their bikes!

NEWSDESK PALMA'S various different council's are going to be given a fleet of 25 bicycles which everyone from the city councillors to department staff are going to be encouraged to use to nip about the city centre.

The Balearic Sustainable Foundation came up with the idea and it is in the final stages of closing the deal with the city council before opening talks with the Balearic government to which it is going to offer another 25 bicycles for ministers and staff to use. During the course of this year, Palma City Council is committed to laying five new cycle lanes and the Foundation believes that city councillors should lead by example.
