THE post office announced yesterday that around 100 of their establishments have started selling convenience products which include items such as stationery, photographic material, sweets and chewing gum. With this new line of business, which started in 102 of its offices at the end of March, the post office is continuing its strategy to make full use of the commercial potential of its offices. The post office already offers bill payments to various service companies and sells telecommunications products. From now it will also sell stationery, computer products (CDs and DVDs), photographic material and food items. On the other hand, and as part of the policy of diversification which it is pursuing, the company has launched a new prepaid package for sending abroad, directed at meeting the needs of the immigrant population. With this new parcel people will be able to send packets weighing five or ten kilos to Eastern European countries, Latin America and Morocco, Algiers, Tunisia and Senegal.
