International dog show - entries nearly double
THE 15th International Dog Show, the King's Cup, which will take place in the Son Moix Sports stadium on May 14, has up to now had nearly double the entries compared with last year (300). The President of the Balearic Canine Society, Francisco Ruiz, in the company of the President of Emaya, Catalina Terrasa, yesterday said that up until then there had been some 500 registrations, which will bring more than 1'000 dogs to the show, adding that on May 13 the 23rd edition of the National Dog Show: the Palma Cup also takes place. At the same time, Ruiz confirmed that this year they will try to change the headquarters of the Ibizan Hound Society from Ibiza to Majorca because of the inactivity of those in charge there. He said that a lot of dogs of this breed would be bred. Terrasa said that since 1998 an agreement had existed between Palma council and the Balearic Canine Society for the protection of these animals.
