Quality award for shops
A total of eight Balearic shops yesterday received the Golden Establishment award.
This award is given by the Balearic Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries to reward the shops which stock and sell quality products from the islands.
The head of this department, Margalida Moner, presented these plaques, which the shops will place in their establishments.
The Ministry gave a plaque to four shops in Palma (Agape, Es Bon Raco and the two El Corte Ingles branches), Ensenyat Alimentacio in Pollensa, Sa Botiga in Alcudia, Sumiller Balear in Inca, and Hort de Sant Patrici in Ferreries. Two wine and spirits specialists also received the award. They were Isla Catavinos and Destilerias Xoriguer.
Moner, who thanked all the shops involved for their efforts in promoting the quality products of the islands, explained that the Ministry will distribute leaflets with information about these shops, in strategic areas such as the airports, to try to attract tourists to Balearic products. The Minister added that the Golden Establishment award was started to enable the sector producing quality products on the islands to have a greater amount of points of sale bringing their products to the citizens.
