SPAIN and Greece continue to offer the best holidays deals, it has been claimed.
A strong pound and the economic woes of Spain and Greece mean that villa holiday customers can enjoy cheap local prices, according to moneysupermarket.com travel expert Bob Atkinson. “The best value deals this year are to the eurozone and they are to Greece particularly, the Spanish mainland and the Balearics, and Cyprus,” he explained.

He also offered some advice on how to stay debt-free and keep holiday costs down. Shopping around for a good deal, travelling mid-week wherever possible and setting a firm budget can all prevent costs running away from holidaymakers, he added. According to a recent YouGov poll commissioned by Turn2us, 38 per cent of parents with school age children say they will end up in debt as a result of going away on holiday this summer.
