Balearic residents are big spenders

RESIDENTS in the Balearic Islands spend more when they are on holiday than the Spanish average.
The daily average spending for a Balearic resident on holiday was 80.4 euros in 2004, which is noticeably higher than the Spanish average of 51.6 euros. Balearic residents also made 2.08 million trips last year, 882'720 of them for holidays. These statistics were presented yesterday by the Ministry of Tourism, and are part of the statistical report Spanish tourist movements (Familitur).
