A 25-year old Italian died yesterday and another three persons, two men and a woman, were seriously injured when the two private vehicles in which they were travelling, were involved in a head-on collision. The Traffic section of the Guardia Civil confirmed that the tragedy occurred at the 52.7 kilometre mark of the roadway linking the Port of Pollensa with the Port of Alcudia at 11pm, when the cars collided head on for reasons which are still being investigated. The young Italian who died, F.G.G., had been accompanied in the car by 24-year old, L.D., who suffered serious injuries. Similarly, 42-year old M.H., driver of the second vehicle and his passenger, 35-year old C.A.R., both from Argentina, were taken to Muro hospital after being freed by firemen. Two children also travelling in this second vehicle escaped unhurt.
