THE President of the Council of Majorca, Francina Armengol, visited the Camilo Jose Cela school which, during the Summer, has been where the Foundation Amidiba has been hosting classes for physically and mentally disabled people.
During her visit, she confirmed the Council's promise to give priority to the island's social necessities.
The main objective of Amidiba is to make it possible for disabled people to enjoy an acceptable quality of life in spite of their problems.
Armengol arrived at the school at 11.10am. The first thing she did was to watch a documentary about the activities and services which Amidiba offers to their members.
In a decade, the Foundation has increased both in staff and installations.
She then went to see the different activities being done by children and monitors, such as painting workshops, aerobic classes, make-up classes, cookery classes, etc.
At the end of her tour she had a private meeting with the parents and the President of Amidiba, Elvira Jimenez, who thanked her for her visit.
