By Humphrey Carter A 44-year-old British holiday maker was in a critical condition in Son Dureta hospital yesterday after having been brutally attacked in Magalluf. The Guardia Civil have opened a full investigation into the assault which happened at 5am in Calle Galeon near the hotel in which the victim was staying with some friends.


Police believe that the attack is linked to the many prostitutes, most of which are African immigrants, which have been working the resort this summer and causing continual problems.

Only two weeks ago, the Calvia Association of Traders lodged an official complaint with the council over the “increasingly aggressive and violent behaviour” of the prostitutes in Magalluf.
