YESTERDAY everyone who went to eat pa amb oli in the Jardines de Can Verger in Calvia, was treated to a performance of various fragments of opera.
This was a soiree called Pa amb oli de opera organised as part of the King Jaume Fiesta programme in Santa Ponsa.
This was the second activity in the programme to take place in Santa Ponsa this month (the first was held on August 25) to celebrate the 777th anniversay of the landing of King Jaume.
According to Calvia council, there will be a whole series of celebrations which will go on until September 17, among them more opera concerts with performances of Gianni Schicchi and Le Villi, by the Chamber Orchestra and the Calvia Choir, on September 6.
