THE Swedish Navy stealth corvette, Helsingborg, docked in Palma yesterday and caused quite a sensation.
Not only can she reach a top speed of almost 50 knots she is almost completely invisible to radar thanks to cutting edge technology. All her external features including weapons systems are hidden behind doors in an effort to reduce her radar outline. The Helsingborg is one of the most sophisticated warships afloat and she represents the latest developments in stealth technology. At present she's carrying out trials in the Mediterranean. This is her first visit to Palma.
