THE 44-year-old British holiday maker who had been in a coma since the early hours of Saturday morning as a result of serious head injuries sustained in a fight with a group of residents in Magalluf, has died in Son Llatzer Hospital.
Anthony Charnock from the village of Immingham near Grimsby was on holiday in the resort when the incident happened. His mother Annie Charnock and brother Danny are understood to have been at his bedside along with his two children and former wife Tina when he tragically died. The death of Charnock, known as Esra by his friends, has stunned his Grimsby community and tributes were flooding in last night.
The fight in Calle Galeon near the hotel in which the self-employed plumber was staying with two friends and a group of four local residents is believed to have begun with an argument over a prostitution-related incident.
But, the argument in an underground car park, turned violent and during the clash between the two holiday makers and the four local residents, the 44-year-old was hit over the head with a baseball bat
