PALMA airport will this weekend receive a total of 351'200 passengers, some 4.7 percent more (15'831 more) than during the same period last year, as well as a total of 2'477 aircraft, some two percent more, according to the forecast of AENA (the Spanish Airports Authority). The busiest day will be today, with the arrival of 141'600 passengers and 946 aircraft at the airport, compared with yesterday when 96'400 passengers and 719 planes arrived. On Sunday 113'200 travellers and 812 aircraft are expected.
During the week (from yesterday to Thursday), the total number of passengers handled by Palma airport will be 669'800, an increase of 5.5 percentage points in comparison to the same period in 2005 (35'150 more) and 4'904 aircraft, some 2.8 percent more (136 more). Minorca airport will receive 62'450 passengers (4.5 percent more than in the same period in 2005) and 541 aircraft (16.5 percent more) this weekend, while by Thursday they will have received a total of 111'600 people (8.2 percent more) and 1'004 aircraft (14.7 percent more).
