Police rule out theft in the missing Miro painting scandal

Police investigating the case of the Joan Miro painting from the Gaudi collection that went “missing” in Palma over a year ago said this week that the painting has probably been mislaid and not stolen as they initially thought.
So far police are not ruling out any option but given the evidence they have collected, theft does not appear to be the reason the art piece is missing.
After investigating the Pilar and Joan Miro foundation, where the painting was on display before it went missing, they concluded that there were no records or signs of forced entry.
Security measures put in place by the Foundation were also deemed as acceptable during previous checks which has led police to admit the painting has probably just been mislaid.
