Children with serious learning disabilities attending the Joan Mesquida and Mater Misericordiae (Aproscom) school were facing a year without school because the Council was refusing to continue to help fund a specially adapted bus to transport them.
But outraged parents, including 37 year old British mum Criana Vernon, whose daughter also attends the school, created such a turmoil that the authorities have now decided to resume their support whithin the next 15 days.

“This is unacceptable. Schools like Aproscom are far and apart and most parents either don’t have transport or the time to take the kids to school.
“A lot of families will no longer be able to provide a good education for their children,” Criana said.
