The Balearic Health Service started to issue yesterday the first new health cards that will allow patients to access health facilities on the islands.
The new card has some new features, including a picture of the holder as well as a proximity chip.
This will avoid possible frauds and allow doctors to access the patient’s medical history in future visits, and by doing so, maximise staff and material resources. The new card is valid for four years, always under the supervision of the national health services who can reaccess every case at any time, should the patients situation change.
Those interested in having the new card can apply for one by either calling and booking an appointment via the number: 902079079 or by going directly to their local health centre or clinic.
