Last week around 350 people attended the 2013 Calanova Cancer 2
are Charity Fashion Show held poolside at The Santa Ponsa Country Club. The show which culminated in a spectacular firework display was a huge success. Musical entertainment during the evening was provided by two of the island’s most popular entertainers and great supporters of charities, Izzy Newman and Liam Live. The models also donated their services and clothes were provided by Vanina, San Augustin: NG, Port Adriano: La Boheme, Inca; Studio 3, Portals Nous; Nauti Parts, Puerto Portals; Olly Dolly, Palma and Lesley’s at the Country Club.
Since the charity began almost two years ago it has donated 50,000 euros to local charities to help families of all nationalities deal with and fight cancer.
This year’s fashion show was dedicated to the memory of Sue Burrows who sadly passed away on New Year’s Eve; Sue together with Krysta Hyer was the founder member of the Cancer Support group.
The raffle which was very well supported is due to be drawn on the 1st October by the Presidents of AECC and ASPANOB. Tickets can still be purchased from the charity shop in San Augustin, at Studio 3 and at the Country Club Spa.
The next fundraiser will be on Friday 27th September at 11.00am at Wellies. The event is a coffee morning in support of Macmillan Cancer Charity.
