Tax Office union calls one day strike

THE Technical Union at the Spanish Ministry of Taxation in the Balearics (GESTHA) yesterday started a series of actions which will culminate in a day's strike on September 28. The purpose of this action is to reinforce their demand that the Spanish Government adopt measures to fight fiscal fraud, which should include reforms within the Tax Office to recover its efficiency in the fight against this practice. According to GESTHA sources, at the moment there is a total “lack of control” with regard to fiscal fraud and, in addition to this, there in a “lack of interest” in this subject on the part of the Spanish Government which is why the union is protesting.
