TWO hotels in Magalluf, the Sol Jamaica and the Sol Trinidad, both belonging to the Sol Meliá chain, will be hosting a charity day for the Balearic Red Cross this Saturday. The events will start from 10am and will go through until 6pm, with hundreds of hotel customers expected to attend and help raise money for the Red Cross social programmes, said a spokesperson from the Red Cross. Everyone is welcome to take part and it is expected that many of these will be English tourists, who are invited to participate in the day's events, such as auctions, raffles and bingo. The day will also consist of shows where people will get the opportunity to win several small commemorative prizes, for example key rings and watches.
In addition, at 1.30pm there will a huge paella to partake in, which will keep energy levels up for the rest of the afternoon activities.
This day has only been made possible thanks to the generous donations from numerous local businesses, which have donated many products and prizes for the competitions. Thanks also go out to the hotel staff and the Red Cross volunteers, who will be present to ensure things run smoothly.
