THE Balearic Institute of Tourism (Ibatur) will hold a series of meetings to promote conference tourism on Majorca, starting today.
They will be directed at the Basque region, Belgian and Luxembourg markets. Among those taking part will be some 20 representatives of the best incentive agencies in these countries, such as American Express, Carlson Wagonlit, and the Starvoor Group. According to the Balearic Ministry of Tourism the promotion programme is aimed at getting them to experience the conference tourism offer by having a meeting in situ. Today, the working group will meet in the Hotel Nixe Palace at 7.30pm, where a workshop will take place, giving contact with 40 local companies, among them incentive companies, hotels and hoteliers associations. For the rest of the time the group will be getting to know places on Majorca, such as Palma, the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, Porto Petro and the Cala Millor area. The meetings end on Sunday.
